The International Seminar on Northeast China Literature and Culture was Successfully Held

From November 13th to 16th 2019, the International Seminar on Northeast China Literature and Culture co-sponsored by Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of DUT , Harvard University, Liaoning Normal University, Dalian University and Jilin University Journal Social Sciences Edition was held in Dalian. The conference brought together famous scholars and writers including Professor David Der-wei Wangfrom Harvard University and Chi Zijian, Chairman of Heilongjiang Writer’s Association, as well as many experts and scholars from universities and research institutions such as Harvard University, Rutgers University, University of Massachusetts, The University of Tokyo, Tsing Hua University, Jilin University, Suzhou University, East China Normal University, Northeast Normal University, Heilongjiang Writer’s Association, Dalian Writers Association, etc.. They worked together and had a discussion on the topic of “Northeast China Literature and Culture”.



At the seminar, the experts and scholars put forward the research vision of establishing “Northeast China Studies” and discussed the theory of Northeast China Culture. Through this event, it was expected to truly open up the discussion and construction of Northeast China Culture, Northeast ChinaLiterature and civil code related to Northeast China.

 


“Northeast China Studies” is a topic full of diversified contents, which should be discussed and studied from literature and history to transcending literature and history. This seminar put its academic focus on the basis of developing Northeast China literature and culture, laying a good foundation for the construction and advancement of “Northeast China Studies” in the future.
