University internationalization is one of DUT's important strategic objectives of development. Over the years, DUT has always been adhering to the international strategic principle of “serving overall interests, coordinating internal and external affairs, letting faculties and departments be the main force and all staff participate, being DUT-centered but also learning from others, creating unique features, and consolidating win-win results”. With continuous efforts, DUT has made its internationalization of higher education a new key growth point in the Double First-class construction. At the same time, DUT strives to enhance its international clout, contributes to foster first-class talents, and fully promotes the construction of first-class universities.

At present, DUT has established partnerships with 252 universities in 35 countries and regions, and joined 17 international organizations and alliances, including Sino-Europe Engineering Education Platform, Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities, University Alliance of Belt and Road , University Alliance of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and ASEAN-China Network for Cooperation and Exchanges among Engineering and Technology Universities, among which China Excellence 9 - Alliance of Six Japanese National Universities was initiated by DUT. A diversified international partnership network has been established.

The DUT International Office's responsibilities are to support the internationalization of students and staff, to enhance the campus's interational clout, and to promote the construction of first-class university.
