At 6 pm on November 7, a meeting with the theme of ‘Glad to meet you, DUT Global Communication Group!’ was held at 1949 Café. It was the meeting of the association. Meng Linxi, a deputy director of the International Office (IO), other teachers of IO and all the members of the team attended the meeting.
First, Deputy Director Meng Linxi addressed the meeting. She said, “Joint efforts of all the students and teachers in DUT are needed to improve the international reputation of the university. On the one hand, students and teachers of the university should actively participate in international events and show on international stages. On the other hand, it is necessary to build such a professional team for international communication. International communication is a key program of the International Strategic Development Office with the purpose of presenting DUT to the world through various platforms.” She then gave a warm welcome and best wishes to all the new members. “I am very delighted to have you in the team. All things are difficult before they get easy, but I believe that with our joint efforts, we, a vigorous team, will surely improve the international reputation of DUT.”
Then, an appointment ceremony was held. While receiving letters of appointment from the teachers, members of every department also took on their responsibilities.
After the ceremony, the head Wang Ning delivered a speech on behalf of the team. She first thanked the teachers of IO for their acceptance and support. She said that as a member of the first team, she understood the responsibility that she is about to shoulder. In the future, she said that the team will do their best to assist IO in enhancing the overseas publicity of the university, and making the university more internationalized. They will continue to advance publicity and research, expanding the influence of online and offline communication. They will improve team building as well as training and evaluation systems. Adhering to the international strategic principles and with the guidance and encouragement of the teachers, the whole team will continue to improve themselves and build a better image, and compose a new chapter for the international communication of the university with their youth and enthusiasm. Next, members of each department introduced themselves one after another.
In order to boost communication among members, and warm up the atmosphere, to help members feel the strength of a team and establish relationships with others, some ice-breaking activities were held after self-introduction. The members played several games, such as “Who is the Undercover”, “Folding Newspaper”, and “Be Careful as I May Hurt You” , which really enlivened the atmosphere and enhance the familiarity and understanding among the members. They all enjoyed themselves. In the lively atmosphere, the members opened their hearts to each other, and embrace new teammates, new environment and new future. It is hoped that through this activity, the members of DUT Global Communication Group will understand and help each other, grow and make progress together in the future!
