  • How to apply for a visa to DUT?

    A: Visit visa(F visa) is applicable to foreigners who come to DUT for exchanges, visits, inspections and other activities. The validity is normally 90 or 180 days from the date of issuance. The visa holder must enter the country within 90 or 180 days from the date of issuance, or otherwise the visa will be expired. 

    A:Single-entry visa for less than 6 months Documents for the applicant to prepare: 

    (1) Application form 

    (2) Copy of passport’s first page. 

    (3) If your invitation is from Country A, but needs to apply for a visa to China in Country B, a proof of long-term residence in Country B (copy or electronic version)is required; 

    (4) If your invitation is here to participate in an international conference, a copy of the acceptance to the international conference is required and  your name should be on the list of participants; if your invitation is here to participate in a short-term academic exchange, a brief exchange schedule or plan should be provided."

  • How to apply for the work permit?

    In order to apply for an entry visa, you will first be required to apply for a notification of work permit. Work permit will be able to apply once you have entered China. Please submit the following documents: 

    1. Academic Resume (starting from high school diploma, list academic and work resume in detail, need to be specific to month) (including phone, email, address, email) (marital status) 

    2.A letter of recommendation or certification from the previous employer (or current employer, or PhD supervisor) (indicating his or her position and performance) 3. Highest degree certificate and its consular certification issued by the Chinese embassy 

    4. No criminal record issued by the law enforcement agency of the country of nationality and consular certification of the report issued by the Chinese embassy 

    5.The medical report issued by the local medical institution. The report form must use the special form of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (can be downloaded from the website download center of the International Office) 

    6.Work contract (specify job title, employment period, work tasks, salary and insurance purchase) (insurance should specify major illness, hospitalization and accident, etc.) (Only Chinese is required, and only Chinese has legal effect.) 

    7.Information Page on the applicant's passport 

    8. ID photo (digital type, white color background) 

    9.The exact name of the Chinese embassy or consulate to apply for a Chinese visa 

    10.The certificate of acceptance issued by DUT Human Resource office. (Postdoctor Office : +86-411-84708712) (HR affairs Office : +86-411-84708717)"

  • What do foreigners need to work legally in China?

    A: Except for foreigners with Permanent Residence, any foreigner mustapply for a work permit to legally work in China.

  • What do I need to do after entering China?

    A:Tip 1:You must register at the police station in person within 24 hours after entry. Please keep in mind of the time limitation, and you would be responsible for all consequences of any expiration. The required materials are as follows: 

    1. Original passport and copies of the first page of the passport, visa page and entry stamp. 

    2. Accommodation Certification. (If the applicant lives off campus, housing contract from landlord must be provided.) 

    3. Address of Gaojia Police Station in Dalian Hi-tech Zone: Block A, No. 2 Building, No. 31 Software Park, Software Park Road, Ganjingzi District, Dalian, Liaoning Province. 

    4. After registration at the police station, the applicant will receive an accommodation registration form. Please remember to keep it properly. 

    Tip 2:You must apply for a work permit within one week after entry, please prepare the electronic and hard copies according to the following list: 

    1. Photocopy and scanned copy of the Chinese visa page and entry page. 

    2. Physical examination record (You can apply for it in the International Travel Health Care Center in Dalian) Contact: +86-0411-87954974, +86-0411-87954975 (work hours: 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., 13:00 p.m. to 16:00 p.m. on weekdays) 

    3. Original passport

    Tip 3:After Receiving Work Permit, you will be able to apply for a residence permit within 30 days after entry. Please pay attention to time limit and be responsible for any expiration.

  • How to apply for a residence permit?

    A: 1. Application form with a photo (2*2 inch color bareheaded photo with white background). 

     2. Official Letter from International Office, DUT 

     3. Original and photocopy of the passport 

     4. The original and a copy of the front and back of yourwork permit. Then scan the QR code and print the information (you can use the web WeChat to scan and right click the print option) 

     5. The Original and a copy of the accommodation registration form, which was issued by the police station after entry. 

     6. Copy of  visa page and entry stamp.

    A:Foreign teacher who is employed by DUT (Salaries are paid by DUT)
